HORSELL, a parish in the first division of the hundred
of GODLEY, county of SURREY, 4 miles (N.W.byW.)
from Ripley, containing 617 inhabitants. The living
is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry of Surrey,
and diocese of Winchester, endowed with £400 royal
bounty, and £ 1400 parliamentary grant, and in. the
patronage of certain Trustees. The church is dedicated
to St. Mary.
