HOSE, a parish in the hundred of FRAMLAND, county of LEICESTER, 6 miles (N. by W.) from Melton- Mowbray, containing 325 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Leicester, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £7. 2. 6., and endowed with £200 royal bounty. The King presented by lapse in 1801. The church is dedicated to St. Michael.
