INCE, a township in that part of the parish of
WIGAN which is in the hundred of WEST-DERBY, county
palatine of LANCASTER, 1 mile (E. S. E.) from Wigan,
containing 1362 inhabitants. There are various coal
works and cotton-factories in the vicinity.
