INGLETON, a township in that part of the parish
of GAINFORD which is in the south-western division
of DARLINGTON ward, county palatine of DURHAM, 8
miles (N. W. by W.) from Darlington, containing 295
inhabitants. The school-room, rebuilt by subscription
in 1816, is used on Sundays as a place of worship for
Primitive Methodists.
