KELLOE, a parish in the southern division of EASINGTON ward, county palatine of DURHAM, comprising the townships of Cassop, Coxhoe, Church-Kelloe, Quarrington, Thornley, and Wingate, and containing 679 inhabitants, of which number, 101 are in the township of Church-Kelloe, 6 miles (S.E. by E.) from Durham, the living is a vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Durham, rated in the king's books at £20, and in the patronage of the Bishop of Durham. The church, dedicated to St. Helen, has some portions in the decorated style, and others of earlier date.
