KENN, a parish in the hundred of WINTERSTOKE, county of SOMERSET, 10 miles (N.) from Axbridge, containing 276 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the peculiar jurisdiction and patronage of the Prebendary of Yatton. Thomas Kenn, created Bishop of Bath and Wells by Charles II., was a member of the family that possessed this manor for many gene-, rations; this prelate was one of the seven committed to, the tower by James II., and, on the accession of William and Mary, refusing tp transfer hja allegiance, he relinquished hia preferment, and retired from public life: his. remains are interred in the parish church of Frome.
