KINDERTON, a township, joint with Hulme, in that part of the parish of MIDDLEWICH which, is in the hundred of NORTHWICH, county palatine of CHESTER, 1 mile (E. S. E.) from Middlewich, containing 469 inhabitants. The early and powerful Barons of Kinderton had possessions here at the time of the Conquest; and until about the end of the sixteenth century, they exercised the right of inflicting capital punishment for crimes committed within the barony.
