KNODISHALL, a parish in the hundred of BIRTHING,
county of SUFFOLK, 3 miles (E.- by S.) from Saxmundham,
containing 316 inhabitants. The living is
a discharged rectory with Buxlow, in the archdeaconry
of Suffolk, and diocese of Norwich, rated in the
king's books at £11, endowed with £200 private benefaction,
and £200 royal bounty. John Vernon, Esq.
was. patron in 1801. The church is dedicated to St.
Lawrence.
