LAMARSH, a parish in the hundred of HINCKFORD, county of ESSEX, 7 miles (N. E. by E.) from Halstead, containing 331 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the jurisdiction of the Commissary of Essex and Herts, concurrently with the Consistorial Court of the Bishop of London, rated in the king's books at £12. 0. 2. Henry Sperling, Esq. was patron in 1803. The church is dedicated to the Holy Innocents. The navigable river Stour runs on the eastern side of the parish.
