LANEAST, a parish in the northern division of EAST hundred, county of CORNWALL, 7 miles (W.) from Launceston, containing 229 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry of Cornwall, and diocese of Exeter, endowed with £400 private benefaction, and £800 royal bounty. W. T. Baron, Esq. was patron in 1826. The church is dedicated to St. Gulwel.
