LANGLEY, a township in that part of the parish of
LANCHESTER which is in the western division of CHESTER
ward, county palatine of DURHAM, 5 miles (N.W.)
from Durham, containing 97 inhabitants. On the bank of
the river Browney are the ruins of an ancient mansion,
part of which has been converted into a farm-house.
