LANGSTONE, a parish in the lower division of the hundred of CALDICOTT, county of MONMOUTH, 4 miles (B. by N.) from Newport, containing, with the hamlet of Llandeber, 171 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Llandaff, rated in the king's books at £4. 1. Of., endowed with £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Rev. Charles Gore.
