LAWRENCE (ST.), a parish in the hundred of
DENGIE, county of ESSEX, 3 miles (S. W. by W.) from
Bradwell near the Sea, containing 229 inhabitants. The
living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Essex, and
diocese of London, rated in the king's books at
£18. 6. 8., and in the patronage of the Crown. The
Blackwater river is navigable on the north of this
parish.
