LEAVENING, a township in the parish of ACKLAM,
partly in thewapentake of BUCKROSE, and partly within
the liberty of ST-PETER-of-YORK, East riding of the
county of YORK, 6 miles (S.) from New Malton, containing
294 inhabitants. There is a place of worship
for Wesleyan Methodists.
