LEDWELL, a hamlet in the parish of SANDFORD,
hundred of WOOTTON, county of OXFORD, 4 miles
(N. E.) from Neat Enstone. The population is returned
with the parish. Here was formerly a chapel, dedicated
to St. Mary Magdalene. A fine sand, used in the manufacture
of glass, is found in the vicinity.
