LILLEY, a parish in the hundred of HITCHIN-and-PIRTON,
county of HERTFORD, 5 miles (W. S. W.) from
Hitchin, containing 427 inhabitants. The living is a
rectory, in the archdeaconry of Huntingdon, and diocese
of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £ 19. 8. 9., and
in the patronage of the Master and Fellows of St. John's
College, Cambridge. The church is dedicated to St.
Peter.
