LITTLETON, a parish in the hundred of BUDDLESGATE,
Fawley division of the county of SOUTHAMPTON,
3 miles (N. W. by N.) from Winchester, containing 108
inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the
peculiar jurisdiction of the incumbent, endowed with
£800 private benefaction, and £600 royal bounty,
and in the patronage of the Dean and Chapter of
Winchester. The church is dedicated to St. Mary
Magdalene. Littleton is within the jurisdiction of the
Cheyney Court held at Winchester every Thursday, for
the recovery of debts to any amount.
