LLANGOVEN, a parish in the upper division of the hundred of RAGLAND, county of MONMOUTH, 3 miles (E. S. E.) from Ragland, containing 137 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, with that of Pen-y-Clawdd, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Llandaff, rated in the king's books at £3. 7.1., endowed with £ 800 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Chapter of Llandaff. The church is dedicated to St. Goven.
