LLANISHEN, a parish in the upper division of the hundred of RAGLAND, county of MONMOUTH, 8 miles (S. S. W.) from Monmouth, containing 255 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Llandaff, endowed with £800 royal bounty. The Duke of Beaufort was patron in 1807. The church is dedicated to St. Denis. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists.
