LLANOVER, a parish comprising the higher and lower divisions, in the xipper division of the hundred of ABERGAVENNY, county of MONMOUTH, 3 miles (S. byE.) from Abergavenny, and containing 2145 inhabitants, of which number, 1863 are in the higher, and 282 in the lower, division. The living is a discharged vicarage, with the perpetual curacies of Mamhilad and Trevethin united, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Llandaff, rated in the king's books at £15. 3. 63., and in the patronage of the Chapter of Llandaff. Here are iron-works, which have lately been much extended; and an iron railway passes in the vicinity.
