LLANVAIR-DISCOED, a parish in the upper division
of the hundred of CALDICOTT, county of MONMOUTH,
6 miles (W. by S.) from Chepstow, containing,
with the hamlet of Dinham, 211 inhabitants. The living
is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry and diocese
of Llandaff, endowed with £600 royal bounty, £200
parliamentary grant, and in the patronage of the Chapter
of Llandaff. The church is dedicated to St. Mary.
