LLANVETHERINE, a parish in the lower division of the hundred of ABERGAVENNY, county of MONMOUTH, 5 miles (N. E. by E.) from Abergavenny, containing 212 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Llandaff, rated in the king's books at £ 14. 17. 8. The Earl of Abergavenny was patron in 1785. The church is dedicated to St. James the Elder.
