LOXTON, a parish in the hundred of WINTERSTOKE,
county of SOMERSET, 3 miles (W. N. W.) from
Axbridge, containing 165 inhabitants. The living is a
rectory, in the archdeaconry of Wells, and diocese of
Bath and Wells, rated in the king's books at £ 15.15. 5.
W. Moncriefe, Esq. was patron'in 1801. The church
is dedicated to St. Andrew. Eight poor children are
instructed for a trifling bequest by Ann Gadd, in 1765.
