LUDFORD (MAGNA), a parish in the eastern division of the wapentake of WRAGGOE, parts of LINDSEY, county of LINCOLN, 6 miles (E.) from Market-Rasen, containing 426 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £5. 18. 4., endowed with £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of G. R. Heneage, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. Peter. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists. Roman coins have been discovered in the neighbourhood.
