LUXBOROUGH, a parish in the hundred of CARHAMPTON, county of SOMERSET, 4 miles (S. S. W.) from Dunster, containing 387 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, annexed to the vicarage of Cutcombe, in the archdeaconry of Taunton, and diocese of Bath and Wells, endowed with £200 royal bounty. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. Within the parish there are many tumuli, on opening some of which numerous urns, human bones, ashes, &c., have been found.
