LYSS-TURNEY, a chapelry in the parish of ODIHAM, and hundred of ODIHAM, Basingstoke division of the county of SOUTHAMPTON, 3 miles (N. N. B.) from Petersfield, containing 560 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Winchester, endowed with £ 200 private benefaction, and £ 1700 parliamentary grant, and in the patronage of the Hon. W. T. L. P. Wellesley. The church is dedicated to St. Peter. Mary Cole, in 1765, gave a rent-charge of £, 4, and Dorothea Cole bequeathed another of £3, to be applied for teaching poor children.
