MARLINGFORD, a parish in the hundred of
FOREHOE, county of NORFOLK, 5 miles (N. N. E.) from
Wymondham, containing 179 inhabitants. The living is
a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry of Norfolk,
and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at
£7 12. 8., endowed with £200 private benefaction,
and £200 royal bounty. L. Forman, Esq. and others
were patrons in 1814. The church is dedicated to
St. Mary; the nave and chancel are thatched.
