MARSH-GIBBON, a parish in the hundred and county of BUCKINGHAM, 4 miles (E. by N.) from Bicester, containing 738 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Buckingham, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £21.9.4i and in the patronage of the Crown. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists. Near the manor-house are some slight vestiges of earth-works, said to have been thrown up by the parliamentarians, in their advance to this place in 1645.
