MELLIS, a parish in the hundred of HARTISMERE,
county of SUFFOLK, 4 miles (W. by N.) from Eye, containing
447 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in
the archdeaconry of Sudbury, and diocese of Norwich,
rated in the Icing's books at £9. 15., and in the patronage
of the Crown. The church is dedicated to St.
Mary. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists.
