MENTMORE, a parish in the hundred of COTTESLOE,
county of BUCKINGHAM, comprising the township
of Mentmore, and the hamlet of Ledburn, and containing
302 inhabitants, of which number, 137 are in the
township of Mentmore, 4 miles (N.W.) from Ivinghoe.
The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry
of Buckingham, and diocese of Lincoln, rated
in the king's books at £6. 17, l., endowed with £200
royal bounty, and in the patronage of Charles Harcourt,
Esq. The church is dedicated to St. Mary.
