METFIELD, a parish in the hundred of HOXNE,
county of SUFFOLK, 3 miles (s. E. by B.) from Harleston,
containing 682 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual
curacy, in the archdeaconry of Suffolk, and diocese
of Norwich, and in the patronage of the Parishioners.
The. church is dedicated to St. John the Baptist.
