METHOP, a township, joint with Ulpha, in the
parish of BEETHAM, KENDAL ward, county of WESTMORLAND,
5 miles (E. N. E.) from Cartmel, containing,
with Ulpha, 82 inhabitants. There is a small sum for
the instruction of children. The mouth of the Kent
bounds this parish on the south-east.
