MIDGHAM, a chapelry in that part of the parish of
THATCHAM which is in the hundred of FAIRCROSS,
county of BERKS, 6 miles (E.) from Speenhamland, con-
taining 329 inhabitants. The chapel, dedicated to St.
Margaret, was rebxiilt by John Hillersdon, Esq., in 1714
There are almshouses erected by the late William Poyntz
Esq. The Rennet and Avon canal passes in the vicinity.
