MITCHELDEVER, a parish in the hundred of
MITCHELDEVER, Basingstoke division of the county
of SOUTHAMPTON, 6 miles (N. byE.) from Winchester,
containing, with the tythings of Northbrook, West
Stratton, and Weston-Colley, 828 inhabitants. The
living is a vicarage, with the perpetual curacies of Northington,
Popham, and Stratton, in the archdeaconry and
diocese of Winchester, rated in the lung's books at
£26. 13. 4., and in the patronage of Sir Thomas Baring,
Bart. The church is dedicated to St. Mary.
