MONKSWOOD, a liberty (extra-parochial), in thelower division of the hundred of USK, county of MONMOUTH, 2 miles (N. W. by W.) from Usk, containing 156 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Llandaff, endowed with £ 1000 royal bounty. The Duke of Beaufort was patron in 1788.
