MORELEIGH, or MORLEY, a parish in the huiy dred of STANBOROUGH, county of DEVON, 5 miles (S.W. by S.) from Totness, containing 202 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry of Totness, and diocese of Exeter, rated in the king's books at £9. 8. L, and in the patronage of the' Earl of Morley. The church is dedicated to All Saints. A weekly market and an annual fair were formerly held here. Within the parish is Stanborough, the site of an ancient fort, which gives name to the hundred. Morley gives the title of earl to the family of Parker.
