MORROWE, a hamlet in the parish of WISBEACH, and hundred
of WISBEACH, Isle of ELY, county of CAMBRIDGE, 6
miles (W. S.W.) from Wisbeach, with which the populaŤ
tion is returned. Here was anciently a chapel or
oratory, in which, by reason of the distance of'the
parish church, the inhabitants obtained license from
the bishop, in 1388, to attend divine service for one
year.
