MORTON, a hamlet in the parish of GAINSBOROUGH,
wapentake of CORRINGHAM, parts of LINDSEY,
county of LINCOLN, 1 mile (N. by W.) from Gainsborough,
containing 580 inhabitants. There are places
of worship for Independents and Wesleyan Methodists.
A school for twenty poor children was endowed with
land, in 1708, by Joshua Teeler.
