MURSLEY, a parish in the hundred of COTTESLOE, county of BUCKINGHAM, 3 miles (E.byN.) from Winslow, containing, with the hamlet of Salden, 473 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Buckingham, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £11. Lord Say and Sele was patron in 1790. The church is dedicated to St.Mary. Mursley had formerly the privilege of a market on Thursday; also two fairs on Assumption day, and on the festival of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin, but they have been long disused.
