NARBOROUGH, a parish in the hundred of SPARKENHOE, county of LEICESTER, 5 miles (S. W. by S.) from Leicester, containing, with the hamlet of Huncote, 1064 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Leicester, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £26. 14. 4., and in the patronage of John Pares, Esq. The church is dedicated to All Saints. There is a place of worship for Independents. The river Soar runs through the parish, and is crossed by a bridge on the line of the old Fosse-road.
