NETSWELL, or NETTESWELL, a parish in the
hundred of HARLOW, county of ESSEX, 2? miles (S.W.)
from Harlow, containing 306 inhabitants. The living
is a rectory, in the jurisdiction of the Commissary of
Essex and- Herts, concurrently with the Consistorial
Court of the Bishop of London, rated in the Icing's
books at £13. 6.8. The King, by reason of lunacy,
presented in 1821. William Martin, in 17'10, left certain
bank stock, producing about £40 per annum, for
erecting and endowing a school for ten boys and ten
gMs. .
