NEWSHAM, a township in the parish of EAGLESCLIFFE,
south-western division of STOCKTON ward,
county palatine of DURHAM, 3 miles (W.) from Yarm,
containing 44 inhabitants. Here was anciently a chapel,
dedicated to St. James.
