NEWTON, a parish in the hundred of CORBY,
county of NORTHAMPTON, 3 miles (N. by B.) from
lettering, containing 94 inhabitants. The living is a
donative. The church is dedicated to St. Faith. This
parish was anciently divided into two townships,
Great and Little Newton, each of which had a chapel,
subordinate to the church of Geddington, and part of
the possessions of Pippewell abbey.
