NEWTON, a hamlet, joint with Biggin, in the parish
of CLIFTON-upon-DUNSMOOR, Rugby division of the
hundred of KNIGHTLOW, county of WARWICK, 3 miles
(N. E.) from Rugby, containing, with Biggin, 240 inhabitants.
Edward Cave, the original editor of the
Gentleman's Magazine, was born here in 1691; he died
in 1754.
