NUFFIELD, a parish in the hundred of EWELME, county of OXFORD, 4 miles (E. byS.) from Wallingford, containing 198 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Oxford, rated in the king's books at £7. 16. 10. The Rev. B. R. Fisher, and the Rev. W. Hopkins, were patrons in 1826. The church is dedicated to the Holy Trinity. A house of friars, of the order of the Holy Trinity, existed here before the 33rd of Edward III.
