ORDSALL, a parish in the Hatfield division of the wapentake of BASSETLAW, county of NOTTINGHAM, 1 mile (S.) from East Retford, containing 632 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Nottingham, and diocese of York, rated in the king's books at £19. 10. 7., and in the patronage of Lord Wharncliffe. The church, dedicated to All Saints, exhibits various styles of architecture. On the river Idle; in this parish, are some paper-mills. The Chesterfield canal passes through the parish.
