ORLINGBURY, a parish in the hundred of ORLINGBURY, county of NORTHAMPTON, 3 miles (N. W. by N.) from Wellingborough, containing 343 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Northampton, and diocese of Peterborough, rated in the king's books at £20. 7. 3., and in the patronage of Sir B.W. Bridges, Bart. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. The Rev. Owen Manning, the editor of Lye's Saxon Dictionary, was born here in 1721.
