sands, county palatine of LANCASTER, 3 miles (N.
by w,) from Ulverstone, containing 264 inhabitants.
There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists.
A school has been erected by subscription; the income
is about £10. 10, per annum, for which twenty children
are educated.
