OULTON, a township in the parish of WIGTON,
ward and county of CUMBERLAND, 2 miles (N. N. W.)
from Wigton, containing 336 inhabitants. There is
a place of worship for Baptists, with a cemetery attached.
A workhouse was erected in 1828, the expense
of which was defrayed by the sale of an allotment of
common land.
