PRESTON, a parish in the hundred of MARTINSLEY,
county of RUTLAND, 1 mile. (N.) from Uppingham,
containing 295 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in
the archdeaconry of Northampton, and diocese of Peterborough,
rated in the king's books at £9. 17 6.
The Rev. H. Shield was patron in 1802. The church
is dedicated to St. Peter and St. Paul.
